Pima Association of Governments (PAG) and the Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) seek applicants for a Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) to provide public input for the development of the next RTA regional transportation plan.
The RTA’s transportation planning efforts aim to identify priority regional transportation needs for the long term to benefit the region’s mobility, livability and economic vitality. In 2006, voters approved a 20-year plan of roadway, transit, economic and safety improvements to benefit the metro region, and an associated sales tax to help fund the projects.
PAG is the region’s federally designated metropolitan planning organization, and the RTA manages a 20-year (FY 2007-2026) regional transportation plan funded by a county-wide, half-cent sales tax.
The Citizens Advisory Committee is the only entity charged with drafting a new RTA plan to take to voters before 2026 when the existing plan ends.
The committee currently has 22 members who served for three years and who have been appointed to another three-year term. The CAC may have up to 35 members, and the RTA Board is seeking applications to consider adding additional members to serve on the committee through June 30, 2024.
The application deadline is noon on Friday, Sept. 10.
There are two ways to apply:
- Fill out the online form by noon Sept. 10.
- Complete the fillable PDF form and mail it no later than Sept. 5, to allow time for delivery:
