Learn about proposed RTA Next plan at upcoming Q&A sessions

Starting Nov. 13, the Regional Transportation Authority is hosting in-person and virtual RTA Next Plan Q&A Sessions to answer questions you may have regarding the proposed $2.67 billion regional transportation plan voters will consider in March 2026.

Following a presentation explaining the benefits of regional transportation funding and the elements of the RTA Next plan, a question-and-answer session will be held. Information about the RTA Next plan, including a project list, maps, fact sheets, FAQs, and more can be found at rtanext.com.

RTA Next plan information

Pima County voters will consider the RTA’s $2.67 billion plan on March 10, 2026. The plan and a half-cent sales tax, if approved by voters, will continue the work of the RTA, which began with the 2006 voter-approved plan and tax that currently are in effect through June 2026.

The RTA Next plan includes five transportation improvement elements that will continue to address traffic congestion, air quality, network reliability, efficiency and safety to meet the priority needs of our changing demographics over the next two decades.

The RTA board approved the following transportation elements and budgets for the RTA Next plan:

  • Roadway (multimodal) Corridor Element – $1.4 billion
  • Safety, ADA and Active Transportation Element – $255 million
  • Arterial and Collector Roads, Pavement Rehabilitation Element – $178 million
  • Environmental Element – $50 million
  • Transit – $726 million
