The Regional Transportation Authority has started a podcast series for the public to learn more about the RTA and the RTA Next regional transportation plan proposal, which is up for voter consideration in March 2026.
RTA Delivers will cover all things RTA and RTA Next, exploring the successes of the current voter-approved plan, the economic impacts of transportation investments across the greater Tucson region, RTA history, what transportation improvements the RTA Next plan has in store, and much more.
New episodes will air twice a month. Find episodes and subscribe to RTA Delivers at Apple Podcasts and Spotify. You also can find episodes at RTAmobility.com/rta-delivers-podcast.
RTA Next is a $2.67 billion investment plan that will support reduced congestion, improved mobility, enhanced and expanded transit, environmental protections, bicycle and pedestrian improvements, and pavement rehabilitation. The plan would be funded by a half-cent sales tax that funds the current RTA plan, which Pima County voters approved in 2006. If the RTA Next plan and tax are approved, the current tax expires before the tax for RTA Next takes effect, resulting in no tax increase.
