The Valencia Road (Kolb Road to Houghton Road) Project (RTA Ballot 2006-25) fully opens on September 30.
This nearly four-mile project widened Valencia Road to a six-lane roadway and included a range of improvements designed to enhance mobility and safety. Improvements include drainage enhancements, expanded bicycle and pedestrian facilities, traffic signal upgrades, and other infrastructure improvements that support current and future travel needs.
Improvements include:
- Widening Valencia Road to a six-lane roadway with a median
- Upgrades to traffic signals and intersections at Old Vail Road and Nexus Road
- Drainage improvements to provide all-weather access during storms
- Improved asphalt surface
- Bicycle facilities and ADA-compliant pedestrian facilities
- Native landscaping
- Dark Sky-compliant roadway lighting
- Public art
