Installation of the final layer of asphalt on Irvington Road from Sierra to Pantano Road, will begin on Monday, September 28 and is scheduled to be completed on October 31. Due to all three lanes being paved, additional traffic controls will be in place, including the use of flaggers and/or pilot cars. Please plan accordingly or find an alternate route if possible.
The base layer paving on the first phase Irvington roadway rehabilitation project (Sierra to Pantano) was completed on Wednesday, September 23.
Final striping is scheduled for October 8 to ensure that the asphalt properly cures. Work on phase two (Pantano to Kolb) will begin on October 5. From October 5-8 crews will mill (removed) the existing asphalt on the westbound lane.
This is the first of five roadway rehabilitation project scheduled for construction in 2026 and 2027. The other projects are Alvernon Road, Julian Wash to Valencia; Kolb Road, Valencia Road to Interstate 10; Silverbell Road, Grant Road to St Mary’s; Wrightstown/Harrison roads, Pantano to Speedway; and Swan Road, Rillito River to Speedway.
